How we handle your information
We collect the personal information you give us directly, through bookings, website forms and enquiries on social media: things like your name, email, phone number and what you’re hoping to create. We use it to respond to you, run your sessions and follow up about our services.
We share only what’s needed to do that with the services that run our business: Pipedrive (so we remember your enquiry), Acuity (bookings), our payment and accounting providers, and Google and Meta (so we understand what’s working in our marketing). If you message us on social media, we’ll use that conversation to help you, not sell it on.
We keep your information only as long as we need it, and take reasonable care to protect it.
Asking what we hold, or asking us to delete it
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to fix it, or ask us to delete it at any time, using the form on our Contact page. We’ll action a deletion request within 30 days, except where we’re required to keep something for legal or accounting reasons.
Paying for a booking
Studio bookings, including producer sessions, Studio B hire and DJ booth hire, are paid in full at the time of booking. Your booking is confirmed once payment goes through.
The Record Project is quoted and agreed with you separately, and its payments are set out in your project agreement.
Cancelling and rescheduling
We ask for at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a booking. With 48 hours’ notice or more, rescheduling is free. With less than 48 hours’ notice, the booking is treated as used and isn’t refunded. The same applies if you don’t show up.
If something genuinely beyond your control comes up, like illness, talk to us. We’ll work with you rather than hold you to the letter of this policy.
Hiring Studio B or the DJ booth
Room hire is dry hire: the room and its equipment, without an engineer or trainer.
- Up to 3 people per booking.
- Your booked time includes setting up and packing down. Please finish on time, as the next booking may be waiting.
- Use the equipment the way it’s intended, and let us know straight away if anything isn’t working or gets damaged. You’re responsible for damage caused by misuse.
- Leave the room as you found it: backdrops rolled back up, lights switched off, and anything you moved put back.
- Keep food and drinks away from the equipment.
- Guitars are available on request. Ask when you book.
- We’re not responsible for personal gear you bring in.
Who owns what you create
You own your songs, your lyrics and the recordings of your music made in our studio, unless we’ve agreed otherwise in writing.
Producers and engineers get credit where it’s due. On The Record Project, credits, songwriting splits and master ownership are agreed with you and written into your project’s Completion Record.
We’d love to share great work made here to promote the studio. We’ll ask you first.
Working with other people on a project? We’ll put a written agreement in place covering who owns what and how it’s split.
Studio projects
For studio projects, we’ll agree a timeline with you up front. If a project goes quiet for 60 days, we may archive it, and getting it going again might mean a small fee.
Refunds
If a recording is technically unusable through our fault, we’ll redo it or refund it. Not liking the creative result isn’t grounds for a refund, since that’s inherently subjective. Approved refunds go back to your original payment method within 14 business days.
A few other things
We can decline to provide a session to anyone behaving unsafely or inappropriately. We’re not liable for indirect flow-on losses. Everyone on-site needs to follow our posted safety guidance.
Booking or paying for a session means you’ve read and accepted these terms. We’ll give you 30 days’ written notice if we change them. Any dispute is handled under South Australian law.
